In a world of endless online booking sites and travel blogs, it’s easy to ask why you should use a travel advisor. The answer is simple: a travel advisor provides expertise, personalized planning, and advocacy that no algorithm can match.
Expertise and Advocacy
A travel advisor is more than a booking resource—we are your dedicated travel consultant and advocate throughout the entire journey.
Continuous Education: We stay current on destinations, resorts, cruise lines, and tour operators, along with industry changes and travel requirements. Many advisors also have firsthand travel experience, offering practical insight and recommendations beyond what you’ll find online.
Problem Solving: If unexpected issues arise, such as schedule changes, overbooked hotels, or disrupted travel, we step in to help handle the details and resolve most problems on your behalf, reducing stress and saving you time.
Insider Access: Through established supplier relationships, we can often provide preferred pricing, added amenities, upgrades, or exclusive perks that are not typically available through public booking sites.
How do I get paid?
My business is built on the relationships I have with travel suppliers. When I book a hotel, a cruise, a tour, or a complete vacation package for you, the supplier pays me a commission.
This percentage allows me to provide you with a high level of service without a direct cost to you, and the cost is already built into the price you would pay, even if you booked it yourself. My payment is tied to the value I provide in planning and booking a fantastic, seamless trip.
Do you charge a fee?
I believe in clear, upfront transparency about how my travel planning services work.
Most trips do not require a separate planning fee, as I am compensated through commissions paid by travel suppliers such as hotels, cruise lines, and tour operators when you book your trip.
For many years, I have also assisted clients with the full scope of travel planning, including flights, rail, and other non-commissionable components such as tours and dining reservations.
In some cases, a planning or service fee may apply for complex itineraries or for non-commissionable services that require additional time and coordination. If a fee is applicable, it will always be discussed and agreed upon with you in advance before any bookings are made.
My goal is to simplify the planning process, manage the details, and provide expert guidance so you can focus on enjoying your travel experience with confidence and ease.
